Wind Energy Scotland LLP was founded in 2012 and already has almost 200 sites underway across Scotland, which are set to produce in excess of 500 MWs of energy.

Martin Davie, Managing Partner

The former CEO of Willowind Energy, Martin oversaw the progression of more than 60 wind farm sites of 700 megawatts. He has worked with Scottish Woodlands and Plambeck New Energy to develop sites and has worked in the property development industry for more than 40 years.
His experience ranges from wind energy and residential development to the delivery of the Millennium Dome.  As a trained surveyor his experience is invaluable in delivering quality wind projects across Scotland.

Miles MacKinnon, Partner

Mile MacKinnonMiles has worked in the Financial services & Banking industry since 1995, starting his career with AXA Sun Life as an Investment Consultant.

After seven years, Miles moved on to gain further experience in different areas of the financial sector, working for a merchant bank, securities firm and venture capitalist.

In 2006 he established Helles LLP, a boutique firm that provided corporate structuring consultancy services to UK businesses.

Working as a consultant with Robert Fraser & Partners, he has been involved in the structuring and financing of over a dozen international ship wreck and salvage projects, which have been operational in different oceans around the world.

Miles is a founding partner of MD Capital Partners, which is a Private Equity firm specialising in multi sector company raisings between £1m & £20m.

In 2012 he co-founded Wind Energy Scotland and was appointed to the Executive Board of the Special Olympics Great Britain in 2010. He is a member of the Company of International Bankers and also the International Tax Planning Association.

Miles also sits on the committee of the Harlequins Rugby Players Association, which is the club he finished his playing career at.


John Dupont, Partner

John DupontJohn started his career with Neville Russell Chartered Accountants becoming a qualified Independent Financial Adviser.

In 1998 he joined Zurich Financial Services, spending seven years with the group and becoming one of the firms most successful Broker Consultants.

John joined Manx Trust Management Group in 2005, where he became Sales and Marketing Director of Montpelier Tax Consultants (London) Ltd.

He became actively involved in the renewable energy sector in 2008, specifically concentrating on the development of wind farms in Scotland. John was involved in the financing of Willow Wind Ltd and co-founded Wind Energy Scotland in 2012.

John is a founding Partner of MD Capital Partners, which is a Private Equity firm specialising in multi sector company raisings between £1m & £20m.
